Painter. Graphic artist (1926-2001)
Born in Moscow, Russia. After MAKSH, he graduated from the Moscow State Academy Art Institute named
after Vassili Surikov in 1951, where he trained in the studio of P. Pokarzhevsky. Since 1951 he participated in
exhibitions all over Russia and abroad and came to be a member of the Moscow Union of Artists the same
year. A painter by nature with an innate sense of colour —the landscape and manual labor are a recurring
theme in his work. He appears to have a lot in common with his friend and artist Viktor Popkov — their
paintings focus on similar subjects, yet the interpretation and pictorial handwriting is different.
